AB Play provides a safe, nurturing, and fun environment to foster learning and exploration to children with disabilities. Our center is a great alternative to “typical playgrounds.” We provide a fun and motivational environment to help participants in the areas of strength, sensory processing, communication, positive behavior support and social interactions. Our center is designed especially for sensory recreation. Children learn to participate in purposeful play and everyday childhood activities. We also offer a variety of classes to help these children thrive, make friends, build confidence and have FUN!
Our mission is to provide a place where parents and children feel comfortable socializing while learning life and recreation skills in a creative and safe environment.
Hello, my name is Michelle Omanoff. I have worked in the field of developmental disabilities for 7 years, working with children on the spectrum for over 5 years. I began working with children with developmental disabilities in 2011 when I accepted a position at a local elementary school as a Paraprofessional in the Structured Classroom for Intensive Learning of Language Skills; it was at this time that I realized my love and passion to help these children succeed. I spent 3 years in the classroom and then began working as an Early Childhood Habilitation Provider where I provided direct support to members and/or their families in the home and community based setting. I hold an AA degree in Elementary Education and am a BA candidate in Human Services.
I oversee the daily activities, scheduling and staff management, as well as assist the children in social skill development at AB Play. I oversee various organization administrative responsibilities on a daily basis and ensure that the environment for the staff and kids is safe, clean and comfortable.
